Staff Appreciation Month
ECU will celebrate Staff Appreciation Month in April 2024!
The Staff Senate is extremely excited about the programs and giveaways that we have planned for all of you this month! First, we say THANK YOU for all that you do to meet the needs of our students and make Pirate Nation™ a wonderful place to work and learn. Your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed, and this institution would not live up to its mission without you. Thank you again for all that you do, and we look forward to seeing you either in-person or virtually sometime this month.
April 1 – April 5 – Spirit Week
- Monday: Crazy Sock Day

Sunday, April 7 – Online Auction Begins
- East Carolina University’s Staff Senate Scholarship Committee will host an Online Auction to benefit the Gail Jordan Memorial Scholarship and the Children of SHRA Employees Scholarship. Auction ends 11:59 pm on April 13.
Wednesday, April 10 – B.A.L.L. Event
- Eighth Annual B.A.L.L Event “Learning to Lead”
- 3:00 pm at ECHI Auditorium

- Good for in-store and online purchases. Coupon will be sent via email.

- North Recreational Complex, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- Bring kids to enjoy lots of outdoor activities!
- Bounce house and free Kona Ice while supplies last.
- Williams Catering Food Truck will be available.
- Zipline available – minimum age is 12 years old.
April 15 – April 19 – Free Access to the Recreation Centers
- ECU Faculty and Staff – free access to the Eakin Student Recreation Center and the Health Sciences Campus Recreation Center.
- Please bring your ECU 1Card to access.
April 15 – April 19 – Staff Appreciation Meal on Main Campus
- Staff can use ECU 1Card at West End and Todd dining hall from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm any day this week.
Thursday April 18 – Staff Appreciation Meal on Health Sciences Campus
- Cookout Style lunch for staff that RSVP’d (ECU 1Card required)
- Laupus Lake from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm
Friday, April 19 – ECU Baseball Game
- Discounted tickets for ECU vs Wichita State – 6:00 pm

Wednesday, April 24 – Outstanding Staff Awards Ceremony – Live Stream
- The winners of the Outstanding Staff Awards for each Division will be announced and recognized! The award ceremony live stream will start at 3:00 pm. Tune in for the ceremony!

Thursday, April 25 – Introduction to Servant-Leadership

Tuesday, April 30 – Employee Resources Panel
- A virtual panel discussion about FREE resources available for staff members at 2:00 pm.
