Past Chairs

As part of the Executive Committee election process, a Chair-Elect is chosen by the body to serve a one year term. At the end of the year, the person in the Chair-Elect position moves into the Chair position. Per the Staff Senate bylaws, the Chair conducts Senate meetings and Executive Committee meetings. Additionally, the Chair represents the senate at the Board of Trustees and serves on other called meetings upon the request from various university officials and committees.

Serving as Chair of the Senate is not an easy task. It requires the ability to juggle work responsibilities and senate duties, supreme supervisor support, and additional colleague encouragement. To some, the role of Staff Senate Chair may feel like the longest 12-month period, yet it flies past quickly. Serving as Chair is an honor and to those that have chosen to fill the role, THANK YOU.
